ABOUT STEVEN P. INMAN
I represent the County of San Diego in civil litigation matters as a Supervising Deputy County Counsel. Prior to joining the Office of County Counsel, I was Of Counsel at Barnes & Thornburg LLP and advised clients on commercial litigation matters, including complex insurance coverage lawsuits, insurer bad faith claims, contract claims and claims for unfair competition/unfair business practices. Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, I held the position of Director of Legal Affairs at Welk Resort Group, Inc. At Welk, I drafted commercial agreements, drafted and reviewed consumer documents, oversaw due diligence for real estate acquisitions, maintained the corporate books and records, prepared regulatory filings and corporate registration documents, prepared loan and securitization documents, provided comments on proposed legislation, handled significant insurance claims, and advised the company regarding trademark matters, employment matters, ADA matters, and consumer protection laws. Before joining Welk I was a senior associate at Dickstein Shapiro LLP where I represented clients in complex insurance coverage matters, IP matters, and other litigation. Prior to that I held the position of Director, Legal Affairs & Litigation at Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc.(a media and technology company).I was listed as a “Rising Star” in California Super Lawyers from 20••••14 and have authored a number of publications on a range of insurance recovery topics, including insurer obligations to policyholders, trademark infringement under advertising injury coverage grants, insurance coverage for patent infringement lawsuits, and political risk coverage.I am admitted to practice in the State of California, before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
