ABOUT STEVEN MCRITCHIE

Started my career in the Timber Merchant sector at 17 years old with Mallinson Denny/Malden Timber as a junior trade counter assistant and progressed through the business to the position of External Sales Exec at 21 years old.I worked in the Merchant sector for 10 years, before being head hunted to work for Hunter Timber/Finnforest where I enjoyed working for 7 years developing the Timber Merchant customer base.I worked for the first 6 years with Finnforest as an External Key Account Manager, before being promoted to the post of Softwood Product Manager for 1 year based in Grangemouth.I left Finnforest to start my own company called Swedscot Timber, which was grown from a turnover of to in the first few years and then re-located the company from its original base in Inverness to Cumbernauld (Near Glasgow).After owning Swedscot Timber for 13 years, the company was then purchased by SCA UK Ltd to offer a UK coverage to its customer base.I was then employed as the General Manager for SCA UK Ltd in Scotland for 4 years, where we developed and grew the customer base with a wide range of timber and composite products.In April 21 I joined Taylor Maxwell as National Business Manager where we sold a wide range of products including Whitewood C16, C24, Composite Decking, Roofing Battens and Fencing Products.Left Taylor Maxwell - Jan 22March 22 - Joined MKM as Branch Director/AviemoreMarch 24 - Started S&S Timber Ltd
