Hi, my name is Steven McDaniel. I hold a PhD in Higher Education Administration and am currently the Deputy Director of the Public Health Directorate at the Office of the Surgeon General. I recently transitioned into this new role from Director of Education and Training at Walter Reed National Military Medical CenterIn my current role, I oversee Force Health Protection programs and provide strategic leadership in public health initiatives. My extensive military and civilian experience has honed my administrative and leadership skills, making me adept at program development, compliance, and accreditation. At Walter Reed, I develop and deliver course instruction in Specialist in Blood Banking, Clinical Laboratory Officers Course, and Medical Laboratory Technician programs. I also ensure compliance and certification with multiple accrediting agencies and have successfully obtained recertification of key clinical programs.With over three decades of service in the United States Army, coupled with my role as an educator at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, I possess a unique blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic oversight. Notably, I have a proven track record in securing accreditations, leading diverse teams, and implementing long-term programmatic goals. I bring a wealth of knowledge in administration, leadership, and operational oversight.
