Henry\'s Cameras is a leading Canadian retailer and e-commerce provider of cameras and video equipment (including Canon, Sony, Fuji, and Nikon) and employs 250-300 people across Canada. Purchased by a private equity group Lynx Equity in 2023, I was appointed as head of finance and tasked to help formulate strategies to improve investor returns. Key Achievements Spearheaded strategic initiatives to implement substantial cost-savers. Renegotiated vendor contracts and terms to improve cashflows and increase GP%. Re-designed and optimized accounting policies, unlocking value on the balance sheet and improving EBITDA. Leading the development and monitoring of KPIs to drive performance insights, strengthen loss-prevention controls, and align with overall company strategy Key Accountabilities Head of finance and IT. Strategy development and implementation. Board reporting. Financial reporting (month end). Audit (ASPE). Supervising, coaching, training, motivating and mentoring, setting clear goals and expectations. Reviewed sales tax recon and payments. Payroll management and review (initiated new HCMS implementation). Cashflow management. Annual budgeting, as well as quarterly forecasting. FP & A – managed function and improved reporting. Managing IT project schedules and plans.
