Construction, Renewable Energy, and Commercial Law and Litigation Partner
Jul 2023 — Present · Hartford, CT, US
I represent clients in the areas of construction, renewable energy, commercial, business tort, and consumer protection law. My practice focuses on representation of renewable energy firms, construction industry participants, and Connecticut-based businesses in dispute resolution, legal compliance, and regulatory matters. I represent clients in litigation and ADR, as well as in proceedings involving state administrative agencies and state utility regulatory authorities. I represent project owners, design professionals, construction managers, and contractors in connection with complex construction issues and disputes associated with contract breach, delay and productivity losses, extra work claims, payment entitlement, design defects, mechanic’s liens, and bond claims. I also counsel clients regarding the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts, licensing and other regulatory compliance, and resolution of government investigations and agency enforcement actions. In my renewable energy practice, I counsel clients in all areas of Connecticut compliance and regulatory matters, including legal requirements involving the intersection of renewable energy, construction, contractor licensing, and consumer protection law, property tax assessment, and technical matters regarding renewable energy incentive offerings. I also represent clients in related dispute resolution, including in litigation, informal dispute resolution, and CTPURA proceedings, as well as in relation to state agency investigations or regulatory enforcement actions. As a commercial litigator, I have experience in diverse range of business and commercial disputes, including “business divorce” disputes between owners of closely held business entities, business valuations, compulsory buyouts, and claims for breach of contract, business torts, CUTPA violations, as well as easement enforcement and adverse possession claims, intellectual property litigation, and land use and zoning matters.
