   As Managing Partner of Husch Blackwell’s Washington, D.C, office, Steve is well versed in public policy and understands the complexities of both the federal government and state and local issues. More important, he applies this unique knowledge for the advantage of food and agribusiness companies in: Regulatory compliance and enforcement issues by various departments and agencies of the federal government. Advocacy efforts before members of Congress on behalf of companies that produce, package and distribute food products. Advisory opinions for various rural agencies within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Steve’s government and public policy credentials comprise work for the White House Office of Management and Budget, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. House of Representatives. He also served as chief of staff to the mayor of Omaha and ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District in 1998. Steve is a member of the firm’s Partner Board, serves on the Firm’s Governance and Nominating Committee and is Chair of the firm’s political action committee (HB PAC).
