ABOUT STEVEN KRASNER
Writing is a passion of mine. So is sports. I was fortunate to combine those passions to get paid to watch games as a sports writer at the Providence Journal for 33 years, the last 22 of which I covered the Boston Red Sox on a daily basis, before retiring in 2008. But other passions are education and working with young students, which is why I now visit classrooms, in person or remotely, conducting interactive and collaborative writing workshops that engage the students in the writing process. I call it Nudging the Imagination I have been performing these workshops, as well as Professional Development sessions, since 1985. In addition, I am the author of several children\'s books, including one, Play Ball Like the Pros, that won a Parents\' Choice Silver Award. Another hat I wear is being Executive Director of Rhode Island Write on Sports which conducts summer sports writing camps for under-served middle school students. I also have three years of experience as an Adjunct Writing Professor at Bryant University. Best of all, I am Papa Stevie to three granddaughters! My wife and I have three children, and three granddaughters.
