ABOUT STEVEN KENAH
A Biological Systems Engineering major entering junior year at Virginia Tech with a passion for the fields of Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, and Biomedical Engineering. Gained experience working on two different research projects in the field of protein engineering over the course of one year, learning invaluable skills such as colony PCR, yeast transformation, and FACS cell sorting. I have also worked abroad in Switzerland at the University of Zurich, in which I worked on another project in the protein engineering field and gained the knowledge of flow cytometry and sequencing, as well as practicing my French and Italian language skills. I have had industry experience as well with Novozymes, in which I worked on a project that allowed me to learn to work with fungal assays, and gained skills such as serial dilutions, confocal microscopy, and automation of these processes with a liquid handling robot. Awarded the honor of Biological Systems Engineering Sophomore for the year 2021.
