ABOUT STEVEN ROTH

I am a Chief Legal Officer (General Counsel) with two-plus decades of experience advising hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, technology companies, managed care entities, and other healthcare providers on a variety of legal, business, and regulatory matters, including transactions, government reimbursement, HIPAA, electronic medical records, managed care, day-to-day operations, and compliance. As a trusted advisor to Boards of Directors, executive leadership, and stakeholders, I bring a solid ability in identifying, assessing, and addressing legal issues impacting business operations, risk, efficiency, and spend.Most recently, I served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Parkland Health (Parkland), one of the largest public hospitals in the nation providing more than 1 million patient visits annually. In my role, I served on the executive leadership team and guided the CEO and Board of Managers (Directors) on key areas of corporate strategy and governance, contract negotiations, financial transactions, business formation, compliance, litigation, cybersecurity/IP, data privacy, health tech/AI, and government affairs. Prior to joining Parkland, I served as a healthcare and corporate transactions attorney at Jackson Walker LLP, an Am Law 100 firm, as well as for a managed care organization (WellCare Management Group).I hold an MPH from the Harvard University School of Public Health, a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a BA in economics from The Pennsylvania State University.
