About Steve Murray

VP Sales Operations is my title, but I offer a broad background and a skillset, which shows that I’m not just a “sales guy”. I have quite a bit of experience in operations, change management, and strategic planning. I have a bias towards action, believing that “hope is not a strategy”.I’m Steven Murray, and my entrepreneurial mindset makes me as comfortable with program launches as I am with change management or budget oversight. One thing is for sure; I’m always looking for the win-win for the customer and company.I take my work very seriously. In my position with HAPCO, I manage national sales for the roofing industry and Industrial Heat Sources. My geographical boundaries extend into Mexico and Canada. Working within these parameters allows me to meet and do business with many people on this side of the globe, which is very exciting. A lot of my success comes from my ability to remove friction as it appears within transactions from time to time. I learned this principle and how to apply it when I was in college at the University of Wisconsin. A keen eye can often catch and neutralize issues before they occur. My passion is for people. One of the favorite parts of my job is teaching and mentoring people who can embrace the company vision and treat every customer with the importance that they deserve. When I’m training or developing people, I encourage each person to “bring me solutions, not problems”. This practice helps them to think the situation through first.In my spare time, I serve on the local board for EMS as a board member; I make a conscientious effort to give back and recognize the contributions of others. I also love to travel and spend time with my wife and our black lab.
