Steve possesses more than 30 years of federal, state & local and foreign insurance tax experience including property and casualty, health care, financial guaranty, title, mortgage, reinsurance, life insurance and captive insurance.Steve has expert knowledge in GAAP, IFRS and Statutory income tax accounting reporting guidance including footnote disclosures, he assists with financial statement reporting and compliance under ASC 740/FAS 109, IAS 12 and SSAP 101, federal/state income tax return preparation or reviews, IRS audit/tax controversy, co-sourcing/out-sourcing arrangements, tax basis analyses, deferred tax validations (GAAP and Statutory), accounting method changes, tax due diligence (including liquidations) and FATCA and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.Steve is a frequent speaker at various insurance industry conferences and at internal (tax accounting trainings) and external (Blue Cross/Blue Shield National Tax Conference, 2006) tax and accounting seminars.
