ABOUT STEVEN GEORGIOU

I’m a passionate and experienced Director of Global Payroll with over 25 years in the Payroll industry. I have worked in both the public and private sectors. With over 7 years in the Investment Banking sector and 10 years in the Technology sector, as a Senior Payroll Operations manager at Cisco and almost 5 years at Juul Labs, initially heading up the EMEA Payroll operation before moving to head up the Global Payroll organisation. I have held roles at all levels of the Payroll space from Payroll Administrator to Director of Global Payroll and Payments, managing payroll teams in complex multi jurisdictional environments, including international assignee payrolls. At Juul I was hired to set up and lead an EMEA payroll team and roll out payrolls in 17 EMEA countries. Under my leadership, these payrolls were then transitioned to a new payroll partner creating further efficiencies and considerable cost savings to the company. My remit expanded further to cover Global Payroll operations including payment operations for AP and T&E.At Cisco, I was hired as a Payroll Operations Manager and my scope of responsibilities grew over time from managing a smaller group of countries to leading a multinational/multi-site European payroll team (20+ countries/30+ legal entities/12k+ employees).Delivery: In addition to delivering on time and accurate critical payroll services for the past 25 years, notable deliverables include setting up EMEA payrolls from scratch. Multiple Payroll transition projects. Setting up a shared service centre (SSC) in Krakow and implementing the ADP GlobalView payroll system platform at Cisco. Over a 4 year journey I reduced headcount by 33% and cost per payslip from $45 to $28.Leadership: hiring and developing payroll professionals. Manage, mentor and coach employees. Developing and leading diverse, continually evolving, high performing teams in what is a highly complex and dynamic environment.
