ABOUT STEVEN FEIT

Steven Feit is the Senior Attorney & Legal and Research Manager in CIEL’s Fossil Economy program, based out of the Washington, DC, office. He leads a team of researchers, policy experts, and attorneys working at the nexus of human rights, legal and financial research, policy, and campaigning.He and his team works to expose the legal, financial, and reputational risks facing the fossil fuel and petrochemical industries to increase corporate accountability and dramatically reduce public and private investments that lock in fossil infrastructure and the fossil economy. He leads CIEL’s engagement with the US Congress and federal agencies, and collaborates with members of multiple international movements in diverse policy environments.Prior to this role, Steven’s work at CIEL comprised research, legal analysis, and advocacy in the areas of climate accountability, finance, petrochemicals, and carbon capture and storage. He was an author on several CIEL reports, including Smoke and Fumes, Trillion Dollar Transformation, Fuel to the Fire, Plastic & Climate: The Hidden Cost of a Plastic Planet, Pandemic Crisis, Systemic Decline, and Fossils, Fertilizers, and False Solutions.Steven graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics & Management, and received his J.D. from New York University School of Law.
