I am a seasoned executive with a diverse background spanning corporate leadership and Indigenous community advocacy. My career journey has taken me from leading large-scale business operations to championing the rights and well-being of Urban Indigenous communities in Metro Vancouver.Corporate Leadership:With over a decade of experience in the retail and gaming industries, I have held senior leadership roles where I was responsible for business development, strategic planning, and operational excellence. My tenure in these sectors honed my skills in driving growth, fostering innovation, and leading high-performing teams.Community Advocacy & Non-Profit Leadership:Outside of the corporate world, I also embrace roles that align with my passion for Indigenous community development. As the Interim CEO of the Metro Vancouver Aboriginal Executive Council (MVAEC), I lead a coalition of 22 Urban Indigenous organizations, advocating for inclusive policies and systemic change that benefit nearly Urban Indigenous residents.In addition, I serve as the Interim CEO of Slaxin Lelum (Metro Vancouver Indigenous Services Society), where we provide culturally grounded, trauma-informed support services aimed at healing and wellness for Indigenous individuals and families.Consulting & Entrepreneurship:Beyond organizational leadership, I am the Co-Founder and Chief Executive of SKN/Wick\'s Cafe, a venture that blends entrepreneurship with community engagement. Through Steven Eastman Consulting, I offer expertise in grant writing, focusing on Indigenous grant streams, and provide strategic advice on Indigenous cultural values, history, and protocols.My mission is to bridge the gap between corporate strategies and community needs, leveraging my diverse experiences to foster environments where Indigenous communities can thrive.
