My first autonomous forklift deployment happened over two decades ago—back when “AI” mostly meant Excel macros. Since then, I’ve been architecting automation systems that make material movement look less like manual labor and more like a sci‑fi movie montage.I collaborate with both internal teams and external vendors to design solutions that are typically 2–3 years ahead of whatever the market thinks is “cutting edge.” Translation: by the time the industry catches up, my crew has already moved on to the sequel. Areas of GeekdomLocalization: Because robots need to know where they are before they can sass you about being lost.Sensor Stack: VSlam, Natural Feature, 2D Lidar—basically giving machines more eyes than a paranoid cat.Segmentation & Orchestration: Turning chaotic factory floors into synchronized robot ballets.Interoperability: Making sure AMRs from different vendors don’t treat each other like rival gangs.I also partner with external AMR vendors to tackle the “boss‑level” use cases in manufacturing—those gnarly scenarios that current AMRs look at and say, “Nope.” Public Speaking & Street CredRepresenting one of the largest AMR purchasers/users in the field, I’ve become the go‑to voice at conferences and events. My 25+ years in Automation & Manufacturing Integration (and 8+ years in AMRs) mean I’ve seen everything from forklifts that thought they were ballerinas to robots that refused to move unless bribed with firmware updates.
