About Steven Driest
After spending two years responding to natural disasters and assisting in conservation projects at AmeriCorps, Steven majored in political science and minored in energy science & policy at the University of Michigan. He received High Honors Distinction for his thesis on municipalization within the electric utility industry with a focus on the causal factors behind conversion from IOUs to MOUs and whether or not they achieve their intended goals (e.g, lowering the cost of electricity, increasing reliability, and/or achieving a cleaner generation mix). Currently, Steven works on the project development team with Dimension Energy to realize over 300MW of NTP’ed projects annually.Previously, Steven has worked alongside the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, three state-level agencies, several NGOs, and multiple political campaigns. Steven\'s favorite hobbies include climbing, skiing, and backpacking.
