Provides leadership and direction in efforts that span the continuum of basic science, population-based studies, health services research. in addition to statistical, survey, clinical and applied research. Advises an experienced staff of over 150 statisticians, biostatisticians, data scientists and methodologists engaged in programs that include education, international, social, health and behavioral statistics; data science; statistical methodology and data analytics. Principal Investigator and Program Director for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Study. Dr. Cohen has authored over 150 journal articles and publications in the areas of biostatistics, survey research methodology, estimation, survey design and health services research. He is co-author of the text, Methodological Issues for Health Care Surveys. In his prior position, he was the Director of the Center for Financing, Access and Cost Trends at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He has also served as an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University and at George Washington University. He is also a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and an Elected Member of the ISI.Vice President of Statistical and Data SciencesRTI InternationalOctober, 2015 to December, 2022 Dr. Cohen serves as Vice President of Statistical and Data Sciences (DSDS) at RTI International. The Division includes the Center of Excellence for Complex Data Analysis (CoDA), the Center for Survey Statistics, and the Center for Data Sciences.
