I joined TSG Consulting as a Senior Regulatory Chemist and in October 2021 was promoted to the position of Principal Chemistry and REACH Consultant. TSG Consulting provides high-quality regulatory and science-based services for the agricultural, chemical, biotechnology and related industries I am part of the Industrial and Speciality Chemicals and Human Health teams, providing chemistry related support and regulatory advice to general and speciality chemicals, biocides and pesticides related projects. This includes supporting on REACH, biocidal products and plant protection products regulations as well as classification, labelling and packaging regulations. This is primarily from an EU/UK perspective but increasingly on a more global level to adjust to Client needs. My main responsibilities are to support clients through supplementing our physical chemistry expertise, a service that is applicable across agricultural, chemical, biotechnology and related industries. I advise on the information required to complete dossiers, evaluating such data as is provided, and recommending testing protocols where necessary. I also manage my own projects, mainly around the REACH Regulation. This work involves Client management, including budgetary management and management of the technical experts to support those projects.

ABOUT STEVEN BUCHANAN
With a BSc (Hons) in chemistry with industrial chemistry I have over 17 years working in the field of regulatory science, in particular on chemistry related aspects of the REACH, CLP and Biocides Regulations. This time was largely spent working for both national and European regulatory authorities and more lately with TSG consulting.
