About Steven Bencivenga
I’m a driven and enthusiastic accounting student studying at Penn State\'s Smeal College of Business, who is intent on enhancing his leadership skills and personality in equal measures. As the president of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, I feel privileged to manage a wide range of people while nurturing an environment conducive to teamwork, responsibility and inclusiveness. In this position, I manage the activities of the organization, implement plans, and provide guidance to the members so that both personal and collective goals are accomplished. There is love for leadership that this role has instilled in me and taught me the role of efficient communication, flexibility and planning. This opportunity has taught me to be proactive and seek chances to direct and interact with people in a positive and engaging manner. While serving as the acting social chair of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, I was responsible for organizing events and planning budgets for such events on a reasonably large scale and Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the events. My professional experiences have also molded my potential to adjust and succeed at a variety of places. At Capital Energy Services, I devised energy services for customers based on data and analytics and trends in the marketplace maximizing the customers’ companies\' efficiency. At Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, I was a games attendant. I did learn the importance of patience, flexibility, and connection—skills I carry with me in every role I take on. Also, having spent several years competitive in ice hockey and being captain and assistant captain of a few teams also instilled discipline, teamwork and resilience in me which ultimately still helps me in my personal and professional ventures. I am eager to advance my love for numbers, formulating strategies and solving problems. I want to have a career in financial analysis or corporate accounting so that I can help companies in making actionable, data-driven decisions. I would be interested in roles which enable me to mix my technical expertise with the people side of the business. I would also very much like to further develop myself as a leader and a team member in the teams that I join.
