About Steven Barber

Before joining Janney Montgomery Scott, Steven’s financial career began almost ten years ago with two other firms. His dedication and commitment to his clients has formed strong professional relationships along the way. As a graduate of Buffalo State College, Steve earned his Bachelor’s degree in communications, which led him to a career as a journalist and a news anchor on a local (Buffalo) television network. During his tenure, he interviewed two former presidential leaders, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. He also covered several national, renowned stories such as the crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407. In featuring another one of his many newscasts, he was on the field of Lambeau in Green Bay Wisconsin and while reporting in other US territories, he met and married his lovely wife Sarah of eighteen years and moved back to the Western New York region.Steve and Sarah reside in Hamburg with their four wonderful children – Tommy, Tate, Ty and Tess and their newly joined furry family member, Finn. When he is not busy working, he enjoys playing golf, running, completing marathon races, competing in Ironman Triathlons and attending his children’s sporting events, not particularly in that order! Steven is a youth group leader at their church and is a Chairman on the foundation board for Western New York United Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
