About Steven Aronin

I am a board-certified Infectious Disease physician with 30 years experience in the medical field. I joined Iterum Therapeutics in 2017 where I am currently SVP and Head of Clinical Development. At Iterum, I helped lead clinical trials related to the development of the antibiotic sulopenem, including four Phase 3 trials. I was involved with the NDA process and Advisory Committee Meeting preparation and presentation, ultimately resulting in FDA approval of oral sulopenem (ORLYNVAH) in October, 2024. Prior to joining Iterum, I worked as an Infectious Disease clinician for 20 years at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT, where I served as Section Chief, Hospital Epidemiologist, and Scientific Director for the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program. I continue to see both inpatients and outpatients on a part-time basis in Waterbury. I earned my undergraduate degree from UCLA and my medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. I completed my training in Primary Care / Internal Medicine as well as my fellowship in Infectious Disease at Yale University School of Medicine. I am Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, and past president of the CT Infectious Disease Society.
