About Steve McConnell
I spent the first chapter in my career building and advising teams on complex software systems. Now I\'m applying that same kind of thinking to investing and financial planning.I’m the founder of Rain Dog Financial, a fee-only, fiduciary financial planning and investment advisory firm based in Bellevue, Washington. Rain Dog’s approach is grounded in evidence-based investing, disciplined portfolio design, and the recognition that good financial decisions depend as much on understanding human behavior as they do on models and forecasts. My approach is to walk steadily beside a small group of clients—drawing on my background in forecasting, uncertainty analysis, and behavioral awareness to help them invest with confidence as markets and life evolve.Before starting Rain Dog, I founded and led Construx Software, where we worked with Fortune 500 and high-tech companies around the world on improving software development practices. I also wrote Code Complete and served in a variety of professional roles within and higher education.
