ABOUT STEPHEN K.
I’m an educator and researcher focused on the intersection of technology and society. My work is built on ethnography and observation—essentially, I’m interested in how people actually use the tools we build for them. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at how AI can be used to improve literacy and decision-making, including research I published in Frontiers in Education. For me, it’s about making sure technology serves the classroom, rather than the other way around. I’m also a big believer in the power of a good story. I’ve spent five seasons producing my podcast, The Incongruent, because I love the process of collaborating to bring amazing people’s experiences to light. When I’m not teaching or researching, I’m usually deep in a creative project.
