ABOUT STEVE DURRELL

A leader of organizations knows what to do, and a leader of people knows how to get it done.A senior executive with 30 years of experience leading complex industrial and defense contracts and operations, I have managed to achieve a balance of strategic leadership, operational management and analytical expertise that informs a hands-on approach with excellent communication and engagement skills.Over a long, successful career with ISI, Canadian shipbuilding group and in-service support provider, I became manager of the ship repair group, and then led the commercial group, before becoming President of the shipbuilding operation in 2008.Through very active government and industry alliance building, I secured the largest defense contract in Canadian history for ISI, the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS) Combat Package. In addition to negotiating complex contracts, I excelled at controlling costs, improving processes, managing risk, streamlining operations, and driving business growth to reposition the organization as Canada\'s #30 to the #1 Defense Contractor. In 2013, I built a new venture from start-up, Argus Marine Group, where I direct expert teams (including Engineering, Production, QHSE Leads, and Procurement) in full life-cycle projects, from assessment and contract selection, to managing engineering, construction, and close out. I also lead development of Management Systems and Programs for our clients. A successful change management system requires a vision that engages everyone from the leadership to the shop floor. People all working in the same direction, aligned with the vision, centered on core values and derived in the order of priority-Safety (HSE), Quality, Schedule, & Costs-all to efficiently meet the challenges of the Marine, Defense, or any other industry. To learn more, connect with me:s••••••••@icloud.com
