About Steve C. Lane
My journey into franchising started 20 years ago. I worked for one of the longest-run and largest home-service painting franchises in North America, and I was their top Franchise Developer for over a decade. I\'ve been a Franchise Coach & Trainer as well - so I understand not just how to bring someone into a business, I also know how to lead them! Originally from the Palouse area in rural eastern Washington, I wanted to do something different than my peers in college so I started a business. The learning curve was intense, but ultimately I was successful and went on to teach others how to run businesses. Seeing those people succeed and also gain a life-changing experience as I did, led me into the world of franchised business operations. Outside of my work, my passion in life is travel - I\'ve been to 16 countries in the last 10 years with a goal to reach all 7 continents by 2035. My greatest international adventure has been meeting my Costa Rican husband. My best friend is a Border Collie named Abby Lee and my favorite activity is skiing. We live in Charlottesville, Virginia and also run another small business from our home. Obviously there have been many professional connections I’ve made through the franchise industry - but there are many of them who have become friends for life. I feel very fortunate to have entered this world, there are truly exceptional people here! For now, I am excited to continue growing personally and professionally.
