Bloomberg is the world\'s leading provider of business & market news, financial data and analysis.As a founding member of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Product Delivery function based in London, my role is to support Product, Engineering and Data teams in building world class AI-powered services for Bloomberg Terminal users. I currently oversee two of Bloomberg\'s most strategically important AI-powered Terminal projects.Core activities include- Design, documentation and rollout of an AI product delivery playbook - a lightweight framework based on Scaled Scrum, which empowers cross-functional teams to build products & services that directly support strategic objectives, whilst enabling a high degree of experimentation/R&D- Product operations - ensuring that all products within my remit have a clear vision and problem to solve; defining OKR frameworks to track in-life performance; delivery framework implementation (Scrum and Kanban); ensuring teams have the right tools and systems to help them do their jobs; and making the outputs and outcomes from their work visible to the business- Agile transformation - going beyond \'mechanical Scrum\' implementation by helping project teams to embed an Agile delivery culture within their day-to-day work.

I make it my business - literally and figuratively - to help the world change the way it delivers digital products and services, one project at a time. I\'m fairly sure most people who\'ve worked in the space can painfully recall working on projects that claimed to be \"Agile\"(with a capital A) but were little more than a waterfall project where everyone was forced to stand-up and talk to each other for 15 minutes a day - and by 15 minutes, we all know I mean a soul-destroying 45 minutes to an hour because those things never end on time.Sadly, that\'s led to this weird delivery world today whereby Agile seems to be a dirty word; synonymous with failure because people have mostly experienced poorly implemented Agile. Which is a real shame. So let\'s fix it.For me, successful product delivery comes from a delivery culture, not a delivery methodology. It\'s about empowering teams and trusting them; allowing them to take calculated risk and to make mistakes along the way; and providing them with the right amount of structure and support to help them do their jobs without stifling them with red tape and energy-sapping process.As for me, my background is a blend of the following:1. Consulting - being thrown into usually slightly broken (often \'very broken\') project environments and being asked to make it better. So I have become rather good at pinpointing problems quickly and developing solutions to them.2. Product development & management - actually owning the product development lifecycle from clearly identifying a \'problem to be solved\' through to validation and then into iteration. Project delivery - bringing together cross-functional teams and creating project environments that prioritise collaboration and rapid learning (and pivoting - in a considered way - when necessary).4. Leadership - running companies myself. being the right-hand to CEOs. leading departments and teams. setting strategies and direction. I believe that the current term for what I do today is Product Operations. So whilst that\'s a relatively new concept in the product world, it\'s actually something I can look back over my career in some of the worlds biggest companies and some of the brightest start-ups and say that this is what I\'ve been happily doing for the best part of 15 years.If you\'re keen to know more, please do get in touch.
