Steve serves as the Optum Insight Chief Executive Officer for the Payer Market and leads associated product and growth strategies. In prior roles at Optum, Steve has served as the Optum Insight Chief Operating Officer as well as focused on the Payer, Provider, State Government Life Sciences and Payment Integrity businesses. Steve joined Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group in 2002. While at Optum, Steve has focused on various facets of the Payer and Payment Integrity business and the leadership and development of the teams performing this critical work. Steve has managed significant P&L\'s, created large-scale operating leverage, driven double-digit revenue growth and managed numerous executive client relationships. He has also provided key leadership and oversight for multiple large scale business mergers, acquisitions and partnerships, both internal and external to UnitedHealth Group.Since beginning his health care career in 1992, Steve has focused on health plan operations, payer and provider collaboration and healthcare management consulting. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Steve worked for American Medical Security, CSC Healthcare, Sy.Med and AIM Healthcare.Steve is passionate about giving back to the community through his involvement in local youth hockey, where he has served as both a coach and board member. Additionally, he is actively engaged with local charities including GraceWorks Ministries and My Friends Place in Williamson County and supports various UnitedHealth Care\'s Children\'s Foundation fundraising efforts in the Tennessee market. Steve is a member fo the Middle Tennessee Heat Challenge Executive Leadership team where he partners with the American Heart Association to bring year-round awareness to heart health.
