SKILLS
ABOUT STEVE WINFIELD.
Built in the Aisles™.I started my retail journey in 1995 as a part-time colleague at Tesco Worcester Warndon, working evenings and weekends on frozen foods. I walked through those revolving doors without a career plan, never realising they would lead to a 30-year journey in retail leadership.Today, as Store Manager of Tesco’s Worcester Superstore, I lead a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional customer service, strong operational standards, and a great place to work. Retail has taught me invaluable lessons — resilience, discipline, teamwork, and the importance of putting people first. The tough times and the good times have shaped my leadership and reinforced my belief that great leaders are built through experience.I am passionate about developing others, coaching colleagues, and creating an inclusive environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Seeing colleagues progress and succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of leadership. Our team works hard to serve our community, listening to customer feedback, maintaining high standards, and ensuring our store remains a trusted destination. By building strong teams and focusing on continuous improvement, we create an environment where both colleagues and customers thrive.Built in the Aisles™ is my personal brand, where I share leadership lessons and real experiences from a lifetime in retail — because leadership isn’t built in boardrooms. It’s built on the shop floor—Store Manager | Tesco Worcester Superstore Retail Leader | 30 Years Experience Built in the Aisles™
