Healthcare is now built upon an unstable platform. Between escalating pharmaceutical costs, huge EHR expenditures, rising meaningful use workflow requirements and uncertain repayment its now clear that its at a breaking point. But sustaining tens of millions/year to an EHR vendor using outdated technology and ever rising overhead costs is not sustainable. Our industry is ripe for a \"hostile takeover\". Where will the future go? And who will set the next direction? If another person says to me \"we have to use evidence\" I think I will explode.\"Evidence\" based on dated thinking in outdated realities is NOT the way forward. Its time for innovation, and evidence be damned.
