ABOUT STEVE SZYMKE
Dependable. Creative. Driven. Experienced.I began my career early at the PBS affiliate at Bradley University, working on a Route 66, a Journey, and Illinois Adventure. I studied in London, England for a year to gather a richer film background and to live abroad. After graduation, I moved to Chicago as a production freelancer for the training team of the LMPS Division with Motorola. I also worked on the Chicago based television series Early Edition (aired on CBS) and ER (aired on NBC), along with feature films such as Never Been Kissed (20th Century Fox), Return to Me (Metro–Goldwyn–Mayer), and High Fidelity (Touchstone Pictures) to name a few. Then I focused my career on new adventures, finding documentary filmmaking to explore real life and to show real people\'s experiences. At the University of Chicago, I helped to produce Chicago’s Lifeline that aired on the Discovery Health Channel. Our highlight episode became SuperSurgery: The 200 lb Tumor. Following a successful run with Lifeline, I earned my first director’s credit on Fox Sport’s Preps: Chicago Hoops. I am proud to have been on the crew of PBS\'s Series NOVA, on the Emmy Award-winning Forgotten Genius, Percy Julian. Then I spent some time on the campaign trail with the Senator from Illinois, named Barack Obama.The entire time I have been running StS Productions Inc, I\'ve offered targeted, custom made communication solutions that speak directly to our clients audiences. As a storyteller, I find the best narrative for all of our corporate, agency and non-profit clients. I also continue to produce original documentaries, web casts, podcasts, and a slew of other types of amazing stories. During the pandemic I was fortunate to join the GlobalCastMD team as a streaming technician and as their Senior Video Editor.
