About Steve Squires
DELIVERING MISSION CRITICAL OUTCOMES THROUGH LEADERSHIP, COLLABORATION, AND STRATEGIC EXECUTION As a Senior Executive and Strategist with a record of achievement in leadership roles in both the US Navy and with Northrop Grumman, I’ve driven growth within specialty aerospace, defense, and manufacturing environments for more than two decades. As a leader, I’m at my best when I’m leveraging operations, logistics, and business capture expertise to meet the needs of both the company and the customer. My early Navy leadership experience on ships and aircraft carriers has enabled me to drive change by building an open and collaborative culture that fosters trust and consensus and consistently develops high-performance teams and organizations. This, in turn, has enabled me to lead effective and lucrative program pursuits, start-up, execution, turnaround and recovery while consistently delivering successful outcomes. Some notable achievements include: Winning two groundbreaking contracts with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) including a contract for 29 sets of wings and a three-year spare parts contract, the first long-term spares deal in over 10 years. Relocating the E-2D factory parts receiving and kitting operation from Melbourne, Florida to St. Augustine, Florida. Resolving critical issues related to landing gear and a software anomaly in the first Navy deployment of new aircraft, with only marginal supply support. Earning the Navy’s Aircraft Carrier (Sailor) Retention Award for” retaining our best sailors” and improving execution and combat readiness of the USS Kennedy, a US Navy Aircraft Carrier. Additional Competencies: Strategic Planning & Management • P&L Management • Cost Containment • Business Development • Program Management • Supply Chain • Logistics • Procurement • Inventory Management• Lean Methodology • Continuous Improvement • Product Development • Quality Control • Cross-Functional Team Development • Training • Mentoring
