About Steve Smith
Much of my early professional career was spent on income taxes, research and planning. Getting a Ph.D. in accounting helped me to better understand the intricacies of accounting and finance and it is used to maximize firm value. As an accounting instructor I have honed my communication skill and learned to explain accounting to various constituents. I now have a better appreciation that accounting is not just a by-product a firms transactions, but can be used to help firms analyze value maximizing decisions.
