Employed for Camm-Pro/EnQuest (via Dexcrest Consulting Engineers) on the BP Clair ESP development project.Main project work scope includes upgrade modifications to the Shetland Gas Plant Sullom Voe Terminal to integrate new ESP/EoSPS process modules and a locally unmanned Control Room incorporating a new Honeywell ICSS (comprising DCS/Metering C300 systems and SC S300 safety systems) and an independent Sella Controls OPPS. Responsible for technical author development of a suite of Commissioning Intent Notes and associated detailed Commissioning Procedures for the ICSS, OPPS, Telecoms, Hydrocarbon Process and Non-Hydrocarbon/Utility Process Systems. Functional Safety responsibilities include development and completion of end-to-end SIF validation testing commissioning procedures and for ensuring IEC 61511 ‘Functional Safety Assessment’ Stage 3 compliance prior to plant start-up and introduction of hydrocarbons. Commissioning of ESP/EoSPS process modules and locally unmanned Control Room carried out at both Buckie Forsyths Fabrication Yard and onsite Shetland Gas Plant Sullom Voe Terminal locations.

Degree qualified professionally accredited Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the InstMC, Associate Fellow of the IChemE, and certified TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety ‘SIS’ and ‘PH & RA’ Expert. Worked both onshore/offshore on major Greenfield/Brownfield projects in the UK and overseas on process control and safety instrumented systems within the upstream oil & gas, marine, and power generation industries. Extensive experience at engineering level in consultancy, design, commissioning, construction, maintenance, verification, validation and production operations, including troubleshooting, start-up and plant optimisation activities. Experience covers various SIS, HIPPS, OPPS, ICSS, ESD, PSD, PAS, PCS, DCS, UAS, DP/TAMS, F&G and HVAC systems, with excellent knowledge of process safety, functional safety and associated IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards covering all safety lifecycle phases. Computer literate in all industry standard software packages with a very good knowledge of process plant design and operation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective integration as part of a multidiscipline engineering team, and have provided specialist discipline input into various HAZID, HAZOP, SIL determination and Cause & Effect review studies within the FEED, detailed design and operational stages of major projects.
