About Steve Reams
I have spent a career in law enforcement with the absolute understanding that getting the job done means more than just putting in the time required for the workday. Outcomes matter in all professions but especially when it comes to restoring a victim as much as possible. I have learned that no matter what stage of my career, from the entry level to the top, that hard work and dedication must be applied to every task that is encountered for the ultimate success. My experiences throughout my career have been invaluable to shaping me as a leader.

I\'m statutorily required to provide public safety services to residents in a square mile county, run a 1,300 bed jail, and serve the courts of the 19th Judicial District. I oversee a 65 million dollar budget and 450 employees. My duties require me to meet the law enforcement needs of the community by providing the most effective public safety services possible. This requires understanding the ever-changing needs of the community and balancing those needs with the budgetary resources afforded to my office.
