Steve Penny is the one-of-a-kind industrial designer and expert in visual display merchandising who leads the OnQ engineering team with style, dedication and passion. Steve has many years of experience working with various brands and retailers—Nike, Victorinox, Sony, Philips, Best Buy, Office Max and Walmart, to name a few—and came to OnQ from Beeline Group and Ferrous Studio, Inc. Before that, he taught industrial design at California College of the Arts for 10 years. A thoughtful creator and mentor who approaches every project with enthusiasm, Steve is an invaluable contributor to client meetings, where his hands-on approach is always appreciated during brainstorming sessions. In addition to his work at the home office, Steve can often be spotted out in the wild visiting a client’s facility on-site to test security, discuss changes in scope, and noodle-out the best options. Adding a delicious twist to Steve’s creative street cred is his passion for cooking. As the self-styled resident chef at OnQ, he routinely makes meals for the entire company. In an alternate reality, Steve owns a food truck and is not shy about his BBQ—”everyone loves it,” he says. Steve holds a degree in industrial design from California College of the Arts.
