About Steve Oyer

Steve Oyer is a seasoned executive with over 40 years of business and investment experience. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Sustainable Finance Partnerships, a platform for business and philanthropic endeavors, through which he advises family offices, companies, funds and select non-profits.He is a board member of Borealis Foods, a mission-based food tech company listed on the NASDAQ, for and chairs the Audit, Governance, and Compensation Committees. He also serves as an advisor to Earth Finance, a Seattle-based consulting and capital solutions firm that helps global organizations accelerate their net zero objectives.He was also a board member and the audit chair of Salton, Inc, a NYSE-listed designer, marketer, manufacturer, and distributor of appliances like the George Foreman Grill. Steve’s leadership experience includes serving as CEO of i(x) Net Zero, a permanently capitalized holding company focused on energy transition and sustainability in the built environment. As a Senior Vice President at Lazard Asset Management, he led its Global Family Office Advisory Group. He was also a senior member of Brookfield Asset Managements Private Funds Group investing in real assets and renewable energy.Steve’s non-profit experience is extensive. Since 2019, Steve has served on the board of the Truth Initiative, America’s largest non-profit public health organization committed to preventing young adult addiction to nicotine, opioids and supporting youth mental health. He serves on the Investment, Governance and Audit Committees. As a co-founder of Family Office University Network (FOUN), a nonprofit organization fostering collaboration between single family offices and universities, he serves as principal organizer of its non-commercial initiatives at Stanford, NYU and Oxford. Steve is also an active volunteer with the Jewish Climate Trust, with the mission to catalyze the Jewish people and the state of Israel to improve our performance on climate. He also collaborates with the leadership of the Climate Solutions Prize and Festivals, which advances cooperation with industry, government, academia to support breakthrough solutions to the climate crisis. Steve’s service includes being a member of the board and investment committee of the Florida Atlantic University’s Foundation.Steve hails originally from Youngstown, Ohio and currently lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife, Lorri Staal, and they spend as much time as possible with their four children who live from coast to coast.
