About Steve Moore

I am a Retired Chief of Police for the City of Simpsonville. I am a 25 year veteran of civilian law enforcement, 6 year veteran of military law enforcement with the United States Air Force and General Manager for a Security Company. I began my career when I joined the USAF as a Security Police Officer. I was an Honor Graduate of the USAF Security Police Academy and earned two USAF Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Long Tour Ribbon before being honorably discharged. I was hired by the Mauldin Police Department as a police officer. I was the Class Leader for South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Class #239 and I was also an Honor Graduate. I worked my way up through the ranks at Mauldin and was made Captain over Operations. I received numerous awards while at Mauldin to include Officer of the Year in 1997. I became Interim Chief of Police in November of and remained so until July 2001 when I returned to duties as a Captain over Administration, Investigations and Training. In February of 2006 I became Interim Chief of Police again until October of that year. I then left police work and became an overseas Christian Missionary. I came to the Simpsonville Police Department in September of 2009 where I worked my way up through the ranks until being made Lieutenant in January of 2012. In December of 2013 I became the Interim Chief of Police and was named Chief of Police in February of 2013. In March of 2014 I became the Deputy Chief of Police after the previous chief was reinstated by city council. On June 1, 2016, I again assumed duties as the Interim Chief of Police for the Simpsonville Police Department. I retired from law enforcement in March of 2017. In April of 2017 I began working for Signal 88 Security of SC as a General Manager. I was appointed as an Associate Judge for the City of Fountain in in February of 2018. I was also appointed to the Simpsonville Board of Zoning Appeals in December 2019.

   As the General Manager for Greenville and Columbia South Carolina, I am responsible for the over-all operations of each branch. I plan daily operations as well as long-term or strategic operations. I secure logistics, hire, train and schedule officers. I approve payroll and reports, and respond to client concerns. I am the vehicle fleet manager. I am also responsible for Business Development. I conduct sales calls and negotiate contracts for the franchise.
