Steve Hellem is President & CEO of Navista,The Public Affairs Group He\'s provided strategic counsel to companies and coalitions on a variety of environment, energy, technology and sustainability business issues. He has helped incubate, organize, support and direct the day-to-day management of coalitions and organizations, providing legislative and regulatory counsel and advocacy, communications and public relations support to a wide range of entities including small and medium size enterprises that have been participants in organizations that he has managed or supported. During his career he has served as: Associate Director of Energy, United States Chamber of Commerce; Executive Vice President of the National Environmental Development Association; Executive Director, Sorptive Minerals Institute; Executive Director Corporate Environmental Enforcement Council; Executive Director Industry Cooperative for Ozone Layer Protection; Senior Counselor, The Global Sullivan Principles; Executive Director, Mission Ready Sustainability Initiative; and Executive Director of the Human, Animal Bond Research Initiative. He presently serves as Executive Director, Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP); Executive Director of the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI); Director, Sustainable Materials Manufacturing America (SM2A); supports the Environment, Health, Safety and Security Forum (EHS2); and, Manufacture 2030 (M2030).Education: AB. in Political Science from Univ. of Missouri, Columbia, and a J.D. from what is today the George Mason University Antonin Scalia School of Law. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the US Army, in the Military Police Corp through ROTC at MIZZOU & served on active duty from 19••••73, in Washington, DC, and served in the Army reserves in 1977, leaving as a Captain.He lives in Annapolis, MD with his wife Mary Mahoney, and their dog Baker.
