About Steve Heinz

I founded EnergyCAP in 1980 with one objective - to develop software using emerging PC technology that would help users derive value from utility bills and energy information. Although the technology has changed dramatically over the course of almost 45 years, the objective has remained the same. Today, our dedicated and experienced 100+ person team provides the best possible software, implementation and support services to over end-using organizations that track tens of millions of utility bills with a total value in excess of $150 billion. I\'m particularly proud of the fact that EnergyCAP\'s features have grown over the years to today\'s value streams that range from basic energy reporting to ENERGY STAR scores, accounts payable interfaces, EDI and OCR capture of utility bill data, carbon and sustainability reporting, benchmarking, budgeting, accruals, M&V, smart meter/IoT tracking and analytics, and complex \"campus\" chargebacks and rebillings. A new off-the-shelf platform version specifically to meet the public-facing data/analytics needs of utility companies has already been very successfully deployed by several utilities to meet state and PUC data access and energy conservation regulations.EnergyCAP has become the leading independent energy efficiency and utility bill management software publisher. Selected as 5x winner of EPA\'s ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, Energy Manager Today\'s Top Product of the Year, also CBICC Technology Company of the Year and first-in-class FedRAMP authorized. Our new sq ft operations building, located on the most scenic and amenity-rich site in Centre County, PA provides a great home close to our roots at Penn State, while 50% of the team works from expanded offices in Denver Tech Center and Dublin, Ireland. We’re on a mission to play an outsized role in impacting customers, and the planet, for energy efficiency, carbon reduction and utility expense savings.
