About Steve Hauler

I have been in the payments processing business for over 25 years and have been involved in most every part of the business. I have been on both the operations side as well as the sales side. Being exposed to all sides of this industry, I have seen the good and bad, experienced ups and downs and everything in between. This is a great industry, but there are some trust issues on all sides. ISOs are always coming up with new program and different ways to hide things. When a sales office calculates their residual, it is very rare that they receive what they thought they were going to receive. We kept all of this in mind when Derek DePuydt and I built Apogee Payment Systems. We wanted to build an ISO that had integrity. Throughout the years we have seen what the ISOs have been doing and knew it was not right. At Apogee we treat our agents as partners; we give completely transparent, pass thru pricing. When our pricing goes down (by negotiations and reaching milestones), we pass all the savings to our partners. A major advantage with Apogee is that we pay residual on all line items. Most ISOs only pay on the major line items and keep everything else. You might think it doesn’t make a difference, but it can mean between 10% and 20% more income. Apogee has grown to become one of the top 75 ISOs, according to The Nilson Report. Apogee was also honored by Strawhecker Group as a “High Growth Company”.
