Oversee the Astros communications department, with a primary focus on media relations, player and front office staff relations, and the creation of baseball information• Manage a dedicated communications staff of four (two full-time and two hourly employees), which includes the hiring and promotion process, daily management, and scheduling for the group• Collaborate with team officials on daily communication strategies and on crisis communications• Manage high volume media requests in a fast-paced environment while providing high quality of communications and maintaining a 100% response rate, detailed organization, and positive professional relationships with media• Conduct media training sessions with front office staff and minor league coaches and staff• Represent the club at various events outside of Daikin Park, including travel to Spring Training, select road trips, Postseason games and the annual Baseball Winter Meetings• Serve as main point of contact for all media, broadcasters, coaches, teams, umpires, and sponsors for the yearly College Classic baseball tournament at Daikin Park
