ABOUT STEVE FIEDELDEY
Steve Fiedeldey has a diverse background in education. He is a passionate and dedicated advocate for children, with over a decade of experience in teaching, support services, and educational leadership. Steve is adept at leading multiple teams and creating detailed action plans to implement data-driven decisions that result in increased student achievement and social-emotional well-being. He focuses on the critical work of supporting staff to implement evidence-based curriculum and practices, while individualizing instruction. Since 2007, Steve has served as an adjunct psychology professor at Montclair State University. He transformed the curriculum to authentic problem-based learning that incorporates knowledge of law, standardized testing, case studies, and creating multi-tiered systems of support. Additionally, since 2009 Steve has served as a school psychologist, then as a Director of Special Services. Steve holds his BA in Psychology, MA in Educational Psychology, and MA in Educational Leadership, while also holding certificates as a school psychologist and principal. Being a life-long learner, in 2019 Steve enrolled in the Restorative Practices masters program at the International Institute for Restorative Practices. Steve is most proud of his work in comprehensive crisis intervention protocols and procedures, as well as the newly deployed universal depression screener. The screener identifies students who may be at risk for depression in order to provide school-based cognitive behavioral therapy.
