About Steve Dohman
I am a dedicated and accomplished professional with over 30 years of invaluable experience across multiple positions and disciplines. I am recognized for consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and resource management in high-pressure and complex situations. My proven leadership, adaptability, and unwavering focus on enhancing public safety underscore my ability to excel in complex and dynamic environments. I began my career in the fire service in February 1993, when I was hired by the San Clemente Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Technician working on the City Ambulance transport. In June 1997, I was hired as a career firefighter with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA). Over the past 26 years, I have served in the ranks of Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, Fire Investigator, Administrative Captain, Battalion Chief, and Division Chief. As a Battalion Chief, I served as the US & R Program Manager for almost four years overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Task Force and the OCFA Technical Rescue Program. In 2022, I promoted to the rank of Division Chief where I serve as the local Fire Chief representative to the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, La Palma, and Stanton. I began my tenure in US & R in December 2007 with California Task Force Five (CA-TF5). I have served in the following positions with CA-TF5; Logistics Specialist, Logistics Manager, Task Force Leader, Program Manager, and Deputy Task Force Representative. I have served in an active role with CA-TF5 for over sixteen years. I have been directly involved with developing administrative processes, policies, procedures, airlift response readiness, ATTLA, and ICODES training. I currently serve as the Logistics Section Chief with the White Incident Support Team (IST) and have deployed to multiple hurricanes, earthquakes, and the Oso Mudslide. I have served on various ad-hoc committees and currently serve on the IST Cache Leveling Subgroup. I also maintain several ICS qualifications within the Incident Command System (ICS) and have extensive overhead experience at the Type 1 level. Over the past 15 years, I have deployed on more than 50 State and Federal incidents. This year will be my tenth year on a CAL FIRE Incident Management Team (IMT) as the Logistics Section Chief. I also serve as the OCFA All-Hazards IMT Program Manager where I hold the position of Incident Commander on one of our three teams.
