The Foundation for Amigos de las Americas is a support organization for Amigos de las Americas an international youth services organization, based in Houston TX. Amigos has sent over high school and college aged youth to Latin America since 1965, and focused on community based initiatives and Latin youth leadership development in over 300 rural communities each summer, including operations in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. The Amigos Foundation is in the process of building a substantial corpus to help expand the Amigos program, as well as help fund new field project initiatives and new chapter development (there are over 30 chapters across the U.S. that recruit and train volunteers).
