ABOUT STEVE COLLETTI

Nearly 30 years of drug discovery R&D leadership across pharma and biotech. Currently CSO at Korro Bio responsible for platform discovery, translational pharmacology, and preclinical development for precision genetic medicines of both rare and common diseases. Prior to the acquisition by Zymergen and subsequently Ginkgo, led the R&D portfolio at Lodo Therapeutics in metagenomics drug discovery for oncology and infectious diseases. Over 24 years of experience and leadership at Merck Research Laboratories across modalities in small molecule, natural products, oligonucleotide, and fusion protein bioconjugate drug discovery, targeting programs in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, immunology and respiratory, infectious diseases, neuroscience, and oncology. Built and led the RNA therapeutics med chem department. Core member of multiple development teams, with influence upon legal, regulatory, clinical, and commercial, as well as science-based business decisions with governance committees. Over a dozen preclinical candidates were discovered and guided toward clinical entry, half of which through clinical proof of concept. Experienced in numerous external evaluations, due diligence leadership, biotech JRC, and integration teams, through the business licensing group. Currently an inventor and author of over 130 publications in the patent and scientific literature. Leadership in organizing and sponsoring academic symposia. Twelve years of recruiting experience as a PhD university ambassador, as well as chairing and serving on PhD and BS/MS recruiting committees. Corporate learning and leadership training with Harvard Business and Rider University applied leadership institute.
