About Steve Bowden

Steve Bowden is senior vice president and general manager of the Pulp and Paperboard division of Clearwater Paper. As a key member of the executive leadership team, Bowden leads teams across sales, marketing, and distribution and manages two pulp and paperboard mills as well as five recently acquired Manchester Industries customer sheeting, slitting, and cutting locations.With more than 3,200 employees in the United States, Clearwater Paper is a premier supplier of private label tissue to major retailers and wholesale distributors, including grocery, drug, mass merchants and discount stores. Pulp and Paperboard is the company’s top EBITDA business unit and is made up of 1,800 salaried and hourly employees. It is the business unit responsible for approximately $1B in revenue for the company across both domestic and international customer bases. Bowden has nearly 30 years of manufacturing, sales, marketing, and program management experience, predominately in print, packaging, and paperboard manufacturing businesses. Before joining Clearwater Paper, he was the president of the America’s food and beverage division for Multi-Color. Bowden also held key leadership roles at International Paper (IP) including the executive vice president of marketing and strategy for xpedx, formally an IP division that spun off from the company, and mill manager for IP’s Augusta, Georgia, coated paperboard facility. Bowden holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Auburn University and completed executive programs at Louisiana State University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
