ABOUT STEVE BOURNE
Most of my career was spent designing and writing software or leading groups of engineers delivering products. I started out at Cambridge writing an Algol68 compiler and then moved to Bell Labs where I was one of the team who wrote the Seventh Edition Unix System. I then moved into Industry working as an early employee at Silicon Graphics followed by senior management positions at a number of leading computer companies including Digital, Sun, Cisco. Started the Queue magazine for the ACM and at present at ICON ventures in Menlo Park where we invest in early stage technology companies.
