ABOUT STERLING OWENS
I pursued electrical engineering because I was fascinated by how technology was starting to shape the way we live, from home appliances to transportation, society continues to shift from gas-powered systems to electric. Electrical engineering sits at the center of that transition, and the range of industries and career opportunities is truly expansive. I was introduced to electrical work early in life, raised by an electrical lineman and master electrician, which built a strong foundation in both safety and craftsmanship. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience wiring residential and commercial buildings, completing electrical service upgrades, and troubleshooting meter sockets, breaker panels, and general wiring. I have also completed a year-long series of field assignments in Texas where I led the electrical construction support efforts and commissioning on the engineering side.
