My career is rooted in journalism. I worked as a health and money editor at U.S. News & World Report in Washington D.C. for several years and also served as a U.S. News contributing editor based in Detroit from 2019 to 2025. Locally, I was a features reporter at The Detroit News, where I told the stories of entrepreneurs and creatives uplifting Detroit in the mid-2010s. I also served as editor-in-chief of SEEN Magazine, a monthly lifestyle magazine and website that covers Metro Detroit.I attended the University of Michigan and was editor-in-chief of the university’s student newspaper, The Michigan Daily. I also edited a book, “In the Name of Editorial Freedom: 125 Years of the Michigan Daily,” which is a collection of stories by successful Daily alumni who revisit the stories that launched their journalism careers. The book was published in fall 2015 by the University of Michigan Press.I\'m currently working on a book about Detroit women entrepreneurs that will be published by the Wayne State University Press.
