When you build a sandcastle, how do you start? I build a real foundation for my sandcastles, so that I can add to it, change the design, and deal with a rising tide. Any sandcastle, or any company, that looks good and works well over the long term has a strong foundation. Throughout my career, as an executive and as a consultant, I have built foundations on which companies can grow. Better trained people; better processes and systems; learning why good and bad results happen; superior business models and plans; new ways to share information; clear strategies, goals and responsibilities – these are the foundation of long-term success.
